Original description Mediocris, elongata, robusta, violascenti-cyanea, longius cinereo-alboque pilosa; pro-et mesonoto scutelloque igneo-cupreoque auratis; pronoti sulco longitudinali et mesonoti suturis anticis virescenti-aeneis; cavitate faciali minus profunda, dense punctato-coriacea, superne indistincte levissime transverse marginulata: marginulo obsoleto bis-arcuato; antennis longis, crassis, fuscis cano-puberulis, articulis duobus primis in femina nigro-violaceis, in mare viridi-auratis, tertio sat longo, quarto quintoque simul sumptis tamen breviore; genis valde brevibus, sublinearibus, articulo antennarum secundo evidenter brevioribus; pronoto sat longo, transverso-rectangulo, antice in medio longitudinaliter profunde sulcato; vertice thoracisque dorso dense sat crasse, sed minus profunde punctato-reticulatis; metanoto convexo, dentibus postico-lateralibus brevibus, validis, late-triangularibus, subobtusis; abdominis segmentis dorsalibus: duobus primis igneo-auratis, tertio violascenti-cyaneo parte basali macula utrinque magna ovata obliqua aurea viridi-aureoque limbata concinne ornato; primo parte truncata violascenti-cyanea superne viridi-aureo-limbata; 2-3 basi nigro-aeneis, secundo carinula mediana subtili, in femina magis distincta, tertio convexo, supra seriem lenissime calloso, foveolis, in femina magis immersis, mediocribus, 8 - 10 tantum lateralibus minoribus, rotundatis, separatis, margine apicali in mare brevi, in femina longiore, quadridentato, dentibus in femina brevibus triangularibus aequilongis, in mare valde brevibus, triangularibus, latiusculis, externis duobus longioribus, emarginaturis in femina leniter arcuatis, centrali externis angustiore, in mare lenissime arcuatis, centrali externis parum latiore; segmentis duobus primis dense minus crasse, tertio adhuc parum densius subtiliusque rugosiuscule-punctatis, haud subcoriaceis punctis minutis quoque inmixtis; tarsis fuscis; alis hyalinis, disco parum sordidis, venis fuscis, cellula radiali triangulariter lanceolata incompleta, apice sat late aperta.

♀: cavitate faciali sat lata violascenti-cyanea, femoribus tibiisque concoloribus; ventre nigro-aeneo, segmento secundo apice violascenti-cyaneo. - Long. 8-8 ˝ mm.

♂: cavitate faciali subangusta viridi-subaurata, dense fulvo-tomentosa (non pilosa); femoribus tibiisque et ventre viridibus et cyaneis, hoc segmento secundo basi utrinque late nigro-aeneo - Long. 7 ˝ mm.

Mas eximiae huius speciei a mare Chrys. Ramburi Dhlb. Mocs, differt: corpore magis robusto, colore thoracis, facie dense fulvo-tomentosa, genis evidenter brevioribus, punctatura thoracis abdominisque parum fortiore, haud subcoriaceo.

Sexus: Chrysis viridulae Linn. similes sunt; sed postscutello violascenti-cyaneo et abdominis segmento dorsali tertio violascenti-cyaneo utrinque macula concinne aurea ornato.

Patria: Italia (Lombardia, Dhlb; Suse in Pedemontano, Gir.); Helvetia (Tourn.); Hungaria meridionalis et septentrionalis in planitie, mense Julio valde rara (Mocs.); Graecia (Mus. Atheniense!).
