Original description [Description from Dahlbom, 1854]
Viridi-cyanea, nitida, subpubescens, antennarum flagello nigro, postscutello gibbo, apice acuto; alis hyalinis, apice tarsisque totis fuscis; abdominis segmento ultimo producto, apice truncato, coriaceo.
♂. Hab. rarissime in Vestrogothia. D. Gyllenhal, in Smolandia, D. Boheman, Mus. D. Zetterstedt.
D.I. e. Mas. Praecedentis varietati b. [Omalus aeneus (Fabricius)] inprimis affinis et assimilis, a qua tamen ani structura singulari facile distinguitur. Subpubescens. Corpus in fundo cyaneum ad certum situm luminis viridi-micans. Palpi et mandibulae nigro-picea, hae apicae tricrenatae l. tridentaculatae. Antennae nigrae, basi viridi-cyaneae. Tegula nigra.
Alae hyalinae, apice fuscae, nervis ut in praecedente. Postscutellum gibbum, apice subacutum. Pedes viridi-cyanei, tarsis fuscis. Abdomen nitidissimum confertim et subtiliter punctulatum; segmento ultimo producto, apice coriaceo, testaceo, truncato; hoc segmentum ab infra inspectum emarginatum videtur ob lacinias inflexas.
