Good evening everybody,

if I am not mistaken, this could be Chrysis indica. Can somebody please confirm ? Captured on 19 June 2013, Southern Bohemia, Czech republic.

Thank you.

Absolutely stunning photographs of a beautiful insect!

It could be, although it indica Schrank, 1802 is synonymised under indigotea Dufour-Perris, 1840.

The key character (in Linsenmaier 1997) separating this species from Chrysis iris is the colour of the middle scutal field compared to the lateral fields, do you have any picture straight from above? To me it seems the 2nd picture shows it as similar to the lateral fields and the 3rd it is darker than the lateral fields, so I cannot really give you an answer :)

Thank you Alex ! Unfortunately, I do not have a picture taken straight from above. I thought that the photo of the abdomen (1st picture) could be enough since in Ch.iris, the dents are slightly different.
