Trichrysis cyanea (Linnaeus, 1758) - CZ

Postby Sezima » 21 Jul 2013 22:08

Good evening once more,

I am sorry this is the only usable picture I was able to take. This specimen was quite tiny (5 mm), captured on the edge of a forest (basking on bark), on 14 July 2013, Southern Bohemia, Czech republic.

Thank you for any hints.

Regards

David

Could perhaps be a slightly odd coloured Trichrysis cyanea, perhaps? Hard to say from this picture though, perhaps someone more experienced can give you a better answer.

Hi Alex,

that is a pity, I was hoping for something more exotic :-) On the other hand, when I was trying to catch it, I thought it was T.cyanea...

Very nice picture David!

I confirm that it is Trichrysis cyanea, possibly a male.
They often have more green and black colours.

Cheers
