Chrysis sp male, Afghanistan

Another Chrysis sp. from Afghanistan, no idea in which sp group to place this male in - but it looks familiar, I just cant seem to find anything that fits (comparata group perhaps?). The T-III teeth and genital capsule looks rather particular, should be possible to place from the photographs I hope. Sadly the genital capsule is a bit squashed and damaged, and either way too small for my macro to get good pictures of, so I've attempted to do a semi-reconstructed drawing of it, note the peculiar wrinkles on the parameres, something I havent seen before in Chrysididae.

Label very brief, identical all the other specimens from Afghanistan:

Hi Alex,

at the moment I don't know what it is.
For sure you're right, this male belong to the comparata species group.
It's difficult to say more.

About the wrinkles on the genital capsula: other cases are noticed, e.g. Chrysura pseudodichroa Linsenmaier (see the pictures in Arens W., 2001: Revision der Arten der Chrysis dichroa-Gruppe auf der Peloponnes mit Beschreibung dreier neuer Arten Hymenoptera)

You can download Arens' article here: www.biologiezentrum.at

Cheers
Paolo
