Found by my sister (pictures are hers) feeding on Daucus carota in coastal meadow in Cabo PeƱas, Asturias, N Spain on 22.07.2013. Is ID possible or at least to know the group of species it belongs to? Thanks in advance for any help :ok:

Hi Piluca,

beautiful pictures, again!

You specimen is very interesting. I would say Chrysis ignita group.
Since the pronotum is very narrow, I think that this species is closely related to Chrysis rutiliventris Abeille.
In Spain there's an interesting subspecies, called valenciana Hoffmann, 1935, which could fit your specimen (for sure not lusitanica Mocsary, which is a different taxon).

Nice finding!

Let's see if our Nordic colleagues have some better ideas,

Cheers
Paolo
