Chrysis with hole in abdomen (Holland)

I think it's an ordinary Chrysis-ignitagroup member, a male (counting by the antennae lids)?
Location and date: Holland, southern part, 04-07-2015, my garden.
I was wondering if the hole is caused by damage, that it is hatched as a larvae this way (mutation?) or that is is how it is supposed to be?
The Chrysis was about 10-11mm, so rather large.

Hi Pietsje,

sorry, maybe it's because it's late ... but I cannot see the hole :(
Where it is?

Ciao
Paolo

in the first segment of the abdomen, right behind the back, you see a black hole/ indentation (first pic and third pic).

Ok!

This is the typical shape of the anterior declivity of the first tergite of metasoma.
It's a common depression in Chrysis and it is generally formed by an anteromedian depression and two lateral depressions.

In the picture is more evident only because of the unusual shot in antero-dorsal view.

Thanks Paolo, I didn't know that. It was the first time that I noticed it.
