Hedychrum Holland: H. rutilans, male, Dahlbom, 1854

I think it is a Hedychrum species, but not nobile/niemelai or rutilans. Female?
Location: southern part of Holland, nature reserve on Achillea, rather large and robust behind.

Hi Petra,

I think it's male for the erected and elongate hairs on the thorax (well visible in the second picture).
Therefore, with this colouration, it's a male of Hedychrum rutilans Dahlbom.

Ciao!
Paolo

Paolo,
Thanks again for the id. I've never seen a male H. rutilans before so now I know.
Kind regards,
Petra Fleurbaaij
