ID welcome for his Chrysid, a cleptoparasite of Tropidodynerus flavus in Portugal. 2nd image shows it emerging from a Tropidodynerus nest.

Chrysis sp may be (marginal cell is closed, I see a facial cavity). But without the posterior margin of the gaster, I can not confirm.

Wow ! :wohow:

superfantastic pictures Ian!

I would say Chrysis perezi ... that's really interesting, also for giving the name of the possible host.
Thanks!

Hi Paolo

Many thanks for that - very quick work. Do you have the author for Chrysis perezi - it doesn't seem to be on Fauna Europaea?

Ciao

Ian

I think its viewed as a subspecies of Chrysis valesiana Frey-Gessner, 1887, ie Chrysis valesiana perezi in fauna europea
