ID welcome for this very late Chrysis found in mid November on dunes in the western Algarve, Portugal. About 6.5 mm long.

It belongs to the Chrysis pulchella-group of species, maybe a male of that species, but I'm not sure. Paolo will know more :)

Hi Alex

Many thanks for that - will await confirmation from Paolo. Which other species are in the pulchella group?

Hi Ian,

wow, this is really interesting for the collecting period ...
it's Chrysis hydropica Abeille de Perrin.

Cheers
Paolo

Thanks Paolo - it's amazing what persists into November (and beyond) in that extreme southwest corner of Europe.
