Prochridium hirtipes?

Came across this image, and accompanying video, I think it could be P. hirtipes! At first I was a bit unsure, but when the video shows the face from the front it really reminded me of the one specimen I have seen of this taxon.

Hi Alex,

congratulations for this finding and ID
It is a Prochridium indeed.

However it is not P. hirtipes, which is not distributed in the Arabian Peninsula, but only in northern Africa.
Linsenmaier 1994 described other 3 species from UAE: P. punctum, P. homalosumus, P. sericatum.

This specimen belongs to one of the latter two species described.

Just for curiosity, together with a Russian friend we are now describing a dozen of new species from Russia and Kazakhstan and their behaviour was the same of the specimen in the video.

Ciao!
Paolo
