Pseudomalus violaceus

Please help to identify the wasp in the enclosed picture. My rough guess is that it can be one of the following Pseudomalus violaceus or Hedychrum chalybaeum or Omalus aeneus (or perhaps something else).

More pictures of this specific insect can be found on my website: http://www.gardensafari.net/en_picpages/pseudomalus_violaceus.htm

Thank you beforehand for your help!

:welcome: Hania!

And congratulations for your web-site!

You ID is correct: it's a female of Pseudomalus violaceus
And your pictures are highly appreciated, because this female is laying eggs on aphids,
which will be later brought into the host nest by a Crabronid wasp.

Very nice!
Thanks
Paolo

Thank you, Paolo, very much for your fast reply! I am especially happy with this determination as this is a new species on my website and a lovely photogenic creature indeed.

Currently I am working on the description for the website. In case anybody is interested, it will be published here: http://www.gardensafari.net/en_picpages ... laceus.htm
