One more try for the bad pictures with this one:
It had a green back-part and seems to be a lady...?
Maybe you can tell which one it is..?
Picture is of 25-8-10, Zeist, Holland

Hedy,
I say Omalus aeneus cf. (Fabricius, 1787).

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone!

I would add puncticollis Mocsary.
The sistematic position of this species is not really clear. In the past I considered it as a valid species (followin Morgan (1984)) but now I prefer to consider it as a simple variation of Omalus aeneus Fabricius.
However in the check-list of the Chrysididae in Holland it should be under the name puncticollis.

Best wishes
Paolo

Hello Gian Luca and Paolo,

We have Omalus aeneus in our list and there's no puncticollis at all.
So I will place it as a uncertain Omalus aeneus, it will be the first picture there.

Hedy

Hi Hedy,

The main difference between aeneus aeneus and aeneus puncticollis (as stated by the name) is the visible and clear punctuation on the mesonotum. The mesonotum in O. aeneue aeneus is completely smooth, without any pucture. As you can see in your picture there are many punctures typical of the puncticollis.

Ciao
