Dear all,

Could anyone tell me which wasp this is? The photo was taken in Southern France, Parc du Vercors, 16-05-2010.
Thanks for your help.

Jean

Dear Jean,

very very interesting pictures!
Your specimen is not a Chrysididae, even if the colour is bright metallic.
It is a Chalcidoidea, probably belonging to the Family Torymidae.

It's a Parasitic wasp and you can separate it from Chrysidids for the very long ovopositor coming out from the abdomen
For a better ID you can post it to www.hymis.de.

It seems to me that some fungi are expanded on its antennae.

Nice Chalcid wasp, although I would argue that this specimen has visited an orchid flower and thus got two stamens glued to its forehead ;)
