Hi Gwen,

this Chrysidid belongs to an other species group: Chrysis inaequalis group.

Where did you take these pictures? In Southern France?

In Souther France there are 2 similar species: Chrysis inaequalis Dahlbom and Chrysis mysticalis Linsenmaier.
I cannot ID which one base on your pictures.

In Northern France there's only C. inaequalis.

Chrysis ignita is quite common, but surely there are other more common species in France.
Cheers
Paolo

Hi Paolo,

Thanks you, for all theses informations

This photo was taken on the site -la Lieutenante- near Puget sur Argens around Fréjus.
On the same place I took a photo of Antaxia scuttelaris, a funny buprestidae (that is quite same size and aspect)

Next time I will take more carefully
about theses species apparently look like (but without be) C.ignita ...
I found some of them in the mountain pyrénées (around Melles 31), at Toulouse, in Dordogne and between Gers-Landes ... but in fact I didn't take photos, so can't ID them.
It's interesting like taxons

kénavo,
Gwen.
