Chrysis splendidula ssp. chlorisans Buysson - Cyprus

Postby pepik » 12 Sep 2011 21:37

Hello Paolo, hello Villu,hello all,
first thanks for all the comments from Villu
Cyprus did not have luck-But perhaps I have little experience-insects in Cyprus does not want to get drunk-the bait was not virtually nothing-few Polistes-at 900 m above sea level I caught one Chrysis to Fructus foeniculi.
But it is very pretty.
You know what this is? Thank you, Pepik

Ciao Pepik !

:welcome: back!

I'm sorry that your entomological trip in Cyprus wasn't very successful.
I think it's only a question of experience.
It's not easy to collect Chrysidids in the Mediterranean Islands.

Your beautiful specimen is a male of Chrysis splendidula ssp. chlorisans Buysson. It is known from Cyprus, Greece (and related islands) and Middle East. Very nice Chrysidid!

:thanks: for sharing your pictures with us!

Ciao
Paolo

Hello Cosmin,
Yes, some are ,Ecballium elaterium, photographs are not natural, are assisted (It is the obviously-clear that some species at all in nature photography is not).
I use a small illuminated area in a dark room, and careful negotiations until the insects regaining full activity, sometimes I give flowers to eat, mostly bees.I use the time to clean antennae, eyes, body.
I fly a lot of insects, probably should be about a mosquito net.Check it out, sometimes it is very good, sometimes bad.For details usually have to kill insects..
You understand me? Sorry,my English is very bad..
