Original description Mittelgross bis gross (selbstverständlich gibt es auch wie überall kleine Individuen), relativ kurz und stark gewölbt gebaut. Abdomen kurz und gewölbt, stark gekielt, mehr dicht und nicht grob punktiert. Legeröhre ziemlich breit. Vorderkörper meist ziemlich einfarben indigoblau oder dunkelblau, beim ♂ dunkel grünblau; mit nur ganz geringen heller grünen Partien. Das Abdomen beim ♀ oft mehr violett-kupfern, Bauch glänzend grün bis blau. Die beiden Mittelzähne des Analrandes stehen fast immer näher beisammen, bei den ♂ oft sehr nah. Schmarotzt bei Osmia adunca Latr.
