Original description Long. 5-6 millim.
Mediocriter robustum, colore in utroque sexu simili; capite, thorace, pedibusque cyaneo-viridibus; macula post stemmata, linea transversa in medio prothoracis, mesothoracisque area media caeruleis, postscutello cyaneo; abdominis dorso rubro-igneo, ventre nigro, tarsis testaceis. Prothorace longiore, dense regulariterque punctato-reliculato, mesothorace simili modo sculpturato, scutello crasse punctato, postscutelloque jam crassius. Abdomine minutis, sed profundis et maxime densis punctis crebrato. Capite, thorace, abdomineque pilis albidis tenuibusque tectis.
Marseille et Toulon, 13 exemplaires sur des nids d'Halictus.
Très-distinct du lucidulum par sa coloration uniforme dans les deux sexes, la longueur et la régularité de ponctuation du prothorax, le tubercule anal de la femelle moins saillant et non suivi d'une petite carène; très-voisin, mais certainement distinct du Gœrsteckeri Chevr., dont il copie la coloration et les caractères sexuels, par la fine et régulière réticulation du prothorax, l'abdomen beaucoup plus densément et plus profondément ponctué, et les poils de la tête, du thorax et des deux derniers segments abdominaux blancs et minces, au lieu d'être noirs et subclaviformes.
