Original description 3-5½ l. Der ignita sehr änlich, aber meistens merklich grösser, etwas gestreckter und glänzender; der Thorax meistens rein goldgläzend grün, selten blau oder gemischt aus beiden Farben. Der Hauptunterschied beruht auf der Gestalt des Segm. 3. Dieses fast immer in der Mitte deutlich gekielt, und beiderseits eingedrückt, vor der Grübchenreihe erhöht. Die 4 Zähne wie bei ignita, ebenfalls in Breite und Länge veränderlich. Vielleicht nur Varietät von ignita, deren Endsegment nach Dahlbom modice depresso convexum ist und keinen deutlichen Mittelkiel hat. Man Findet aber Uebergänge. Sehr häufig - aehnlich gestaltet ist das Segment von inaequalis Dhlb., einer süd Europäischen Art; aber diese ist merklich kleiner, nur 2½ Linien und zeichnet sich besonders durc einen schmalen Endrand des Segm. 3 aus. Wlbg., Wsb (Z.B. In Bohrlöchern in Holz und Lehmwänden).
